Kuuskajaskari, the former military fortress island still has a strong feel of the military past. There are many interesting military attractions, such as four coastal cannons.Today the island serves as a tourist attraction. The island offers restaurant and café services, meeting facilities and saunas.

The Sacrification Church of Pyhämaa was built in 1642-1650. It’s one of the oldest still existing wooden churches in Finland. The inner walls are decorated with paintings from the 17th century.
